Losing Heaven

“Oh! She’ll be alright. I’ll make more time for her tomorrow. It’s unlikely for anything to happen tomorrow. I mean, I’ll check up on her when I have time. There’ll be ample time to spend with her…”

Seldom did she give much time and effort to spend with her and care for her needs. She was too preoccupied with life’s trivial matters, and ever so nonchalant in her mannerism towards her existence, her sheer presence. For years to come, she was negligent towards her sole being – no care in the world she had had.

Hence, when the both started to age gradually, there came the inevitable turning point, the non-fictional reality which set in quite irreversibly and that was the moment where she realized the magnitude of this predicament. After her being senseless, careless, reckless and narcissistically self-indulgent with her own egoistic lifestyle, she had come to the ultimate, unfruitful realization…

Her mother had passed away.

We tend to set aside crucial relationships in life, ones that soon come to an undesired fate. Our mothers have carried us for months and months, bearing stupendous pain for the sake of giving us the privilege of Life – and what do we do in return? Perhaps, to a certain extent, fail to acknowledge them and their existence. We occupy our daily lives with frivolous endeavors and engage in lifestyles that bury us even more into preoccupation.

Friends, relationships come and go. There is literally a multitude of those opportunities out there in life, but there is only one mother in a lifetime. Tend to her needs, follow up with her daily encounters, anecdotes, pains, gains, and whatnot. And most crucially, provide them with the rightful respect and dignity she deserves. Ameliorate the wrong-doings you’ve made, invest heavily in her and love her unconditionally, as she had loved you unconditionally for once she’s gone, she’s gone forever.

She is your Heaven and, undoubtedly, your haven.
